About This Role:

K-State Athletics is looking seeking applicants for a Facility Custodian that is a local agency, full-time, benefits-eligible position with paid overtime. You will provide routine cleaning and supportive custodial services for our athletic facilities and events.

Shift: 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday

Evening and weekend hours will be required

as needed

An example of duties include but are not limited to:

  • Supervise students and part-time employees on your crew

  • Clean offices, media work areas, dressing/locker rooms, storage/work areas, suites, dining areas, restrooms, showers, hallways, stairs, elevators, entrances;

  • Floor maintenance

  • Clean exterior entrances, walkways and handicap ramps, including sweeping, and removing and/or treating ice/snow

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school graduate or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience performing custodial tasks in a commercial setting requiring specific cleaning and sanitation procedures

Other Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment;

  • Knowledge of a wide variety of cleaning chemicals, their uses/purposes, mixes and safety issues. Ability to understand MSDS sheets for all chemicals to avoid injury to self, others and equipment it is used with;

  • Ability to successfully supervise students and part-time employees;

  • Must be punctual, dependable and follow departmental policies;

  • Must be able to read, write and follow written and oral instructions in English;

  • Must be available to work evenings or weekends when required; and

  • Must have a valid driver’s license at all times.
