General Description of Position:
The Division of Biology seeks a highly motivated person to fill the open position of Postdoctoral Scientist working in the laboratory of Dr. Govind Vediyappan.
To conduct experiments on Candida albicans pathogenesis and fungus-bacteria interaction. He or she will be involved in determining the molecular mechanisms of morphogenesis inhibition by previously discovered small molecules.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in relevant biological field. Experience in yeast molecular biology, preferably in Candida albicans or related pathogenic fungi as shown in at least two publications in international journals, excellent technical, organizational, verbal & written communication skills, ability to work independently and as a team, and experience in gene expression analysis. Experience in yeast molecular biology, preferably in Candida albicans or related area.
Prior experience in working with Candida or related yeasts and bacterial systems with publications. Experience in handling animal models for fungal or bacterial pathogens. Ability to manage day-to-day activities and supervise, when necessary, graduate and undergraduate students.
Physical Activities and Environmental Conditions :
Activities associated with working in a scientific lab conducting research.
